Black, angular, and very much not Technic
A member sent a photo of this one, and I was genuinely pleased to see it. The Batman Tumbler (76240) does not get as much attention as the Bugatti or the McLaren, but it is one of the more satisfying builds in the library. 2,049 pieces, most of them black, all of them going somewhere useful.
This is a LEGO set rather than a Technic set, the same family as the 1989 Batmobile (76139) that we also carry. If you liked that one, this is the obvious next step. If you have not built either, worth knowing the Tumbler is the Nolan-era vehicle and the Batmobile is the Tim Burton version. Different cars, different feel.
The Tumbler is a cross between a military vehicle and a stealth jet, all hard angles and black bodywork. The matte black finish stands out against the coloured Technic kits on the shelf. Opening canopy, jet exhaust at the rear, foldable wings, and four large rubber tyres on a wide tank-style track. No moving engine or gearbox here, but the structure is solid and the finished model is visually one of the most distinctive things we have.
This is exactly why I like putting member builds on the blog. The official images tell you what a kit is supposed to look like. Member photos show what it feels like once someone has actually sat down, opened the bags, and worked through it.
If you have just finished Batman Tumbler, send over a few photos. It does not need to be a full studio setup. A clean table, a finished build, and a few notes on what stood out are enough.
