42083 Bugatti Chiron – 3,599 pieces, fully built
One of our Master Builder members finished the Bugatti Chiron and sent me the photos. I have been waiting for someone to tackle this one properly. It is a 1:8 scale model in Bugatti Speed Blue with orange accents, and at 3,599 pieces it is one of the longest builds in the library.
The 8-speed gearbox works. You can change through the gears by hand once it is built. That alone takes a fair bit of the build time. The W16 engine is visible through the rear window, with 16 cylinders and connecting rods that move as you push the car. The spoiler pops up automatically when the chassis lever engages it.
This is a 2018 kit, the flagship licensed set that year. LEGO used custom-moulded bodywork panels throughout, so the build process is different from a standard Technic, more visual, more cars-specific. The W16 sequence on its own takes around two hours.

Master Builder is our top membership tier. Members on this tier get access to the most complex kits in the library, including licensed flagships and anything above around 2,500 pieces. The Chiron is a good example of what the tier is for. If you have finished a few of the intermediate kits and want something that will take a full weekend, this is the right step up.

This is exactly why I like putting member builds on the blog. The official images tell you what a kit is supposed to look like. Member photos show what it feels like once someone has actually sat down, opened the bags, and worked through it.
If you have just finished Bugatti Chiron, send over a few photos. It does not need to be a full studio setup. A clean table, a finished build, and a few notes on what stood out are enough.
