Ford GT 42154, another member’s build
The Ford GT (42154) has now had two member diaries on here. This member did not send photos, so the pictures on this page are LEGO’s own images of the set. It is one of those builds where the finished model looks genuinely good enough to sit on a shelf, and it photographs well too.
LEGO’s own shot below is head-on with both butterfly doors raised. You can see the dark blue and white stripes properly, and the doors lifted up give you a clear look at the linkages that work them.
The real Ford GT is the second-generation mid-engine supercar that ran at Le Mans from 2016. The LEGO version is the 2022 road car: dark blue with white stripes. The butterfly doors are the standout feature on the model. They swing out and up on a ball-joint linkage with pivoting L-shaped beams at the side of each door, rather than hinging from the roof, which is how the real thing opens too.

The Ford GT is rated Advanced and sits at the upper end of what I would call approachable Technic. The build mechanics are genuinely interesting: working steering via a gear on the roof, front and rear suspension, and a V6 EcoBoost engine with pistons that move as you roll the car. The opening rear engine cover lets you show off the engine detail.
The butterfly doors are the thing people remember. They swing out and up on a linkage at the side of each door, much as they do on the full-size car. It is one of those design details that makes the finished model feel like more than just a static shape.
The useful thing about a second or third member build is that it stops the post feeling like a one-off. Different builders notice different parts of the same kit, and the photos always come out slightly differently.
That is why I keep publishing repeat builds when they come in. If a kit keeps being requested, that tells me something about the library. If members keep sending photos, that tells me even more.
