Lamborghini Giallo, 806 pieces, an afternoon well spent
One of our subscribers built the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica (42161) and sent over a couple of photos. The yellow is exactly what you want from a Lamborghini kit. That classic Giallo livery looks sharp in LEGO form, and the finished model has real presence despite being a compact build.
The 42161 is 806 pieces, which puts it in a different bracket to the Sian (42115) at 3,696. Both are Lamborghini, both are Technic, but the Tecnica is a two-to-three hour afternoon build rather than a multi-session project. Working V10 engine with piston movement, scissor-style opening doors, working steering. It gives you the Lambo experience in a more accessible package.

The Huracán Tecnica is the final evolution of the naturally aspirated Huracán platform, 640bhp V10. The LEGO version captures that compact, low-slung aggression well. If you want the full-fat multi-day build, the Sian (42115) is the one. But the 42161 is a proper Technic kit in its own right, not a cut-down version. Different pace, same Lamborghini DNA.
The subscriber’s build looks great. The yellow really does the job on this one. If you’ve already done the Sian and want something with less commitment but still that Lamborghini feel, the 42161 is a solid pick.
This is exactly why I like putting member builds on the blog. The official images tell you what a kit is supposed to look like. Member photos show what it feels like once someone has actually sat down, opened the bags, and worked through it.
If you have just finished Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, send over a few photos. It does not need to be a full studio setup. A clean table, a finished build, and a few notes on what stood out are enough.
