The best LEGO Technic sets for car fans
The library has over 90 kits. If you are mainly into cars and supercars, that choice can be overwhelming. This is a shortlist of the sets that car fans keep requesting, and why each one earns its place.
Bugatti Chiron (42083)
3,599 pieces. The W16 with moving pistons and deployable rear wing make this the most mechanically interesting supercar in the library. Takes 8-12 hours. Worth every minute.
Ferrari Daytona SP3 (42143)
3,778 pieces. The largest Ferrari LEGO has ever made. Scissor doors, 24-piston V12, and a body that stays faithful to the real car. Retiring this summer, so time is running out.
McLaren P1 (42172)
1,343 pieces. The hybrid hypercar in papaya orange. More approachable than the flagships but with working suspension and proper McLaren proportions. Good starting point for supercar builds.
Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 (42115)
3,696 pieces. Gold and dark green. Lamborghini’s first hybrid, captured in a complex build with outstanding display value from multiple angles.
Ford GT (42154)
1,466 pieces. The 2022 Le Mans centenary edition. Bonnet opens, V6 visible, Le Mans livery. A focused 4-5 hour build. Popular with members who want a challenging evening, not a weekend project.
McLaren Formula 1 Race Car (42141)
1,432 pieces. The 2022 F1 car in papaya and black. Steerable front wheels, working DRS flap, detailed cockpit. Covers both road car and F1 interests in one build.
Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear (42232)
4,104 pieces. The biggest, most complex hypercar Technic has ever produced. Arriving July 2026. Add it to your queue now before it fills up.
Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car (42207)
The 2024 Ferrari F1 car. Smaller and quicker than the flagships, but the detail is high and the Scuderia red looks excellent on a shelf.
Every set on this list is available to rent (the Koenigsegg arrives July 2026). Browse the full library or email garreth@brickclub.uk about availability.
